Practical Financial Education That Makes Sense
We started lorendrixa in 2019 because financial analysis shouldn't feel like rocket science. Based in Port Macquarie, we teach people how to actually understand their numbers and make better business decisions.
How We Got Started
Back in 2019, I was consulting for small businesses along the mid-north coast. The pattern was frustrating. Smart business owners were making decisions based on gut feeling because they found financial reports overwhelming.
One cafe owner told me she avoided looking at her accounts until tax time. A tradesman said he couldn't tell if his jobs were actually profitable until months later. These weren't careless people—they just hadn't been shown the fundamentals in a way that clicked.
So we built lorendrixa around one simple idea: teach financial analysis the way it should have been taught in the first place. Real examples. Clear language. No assumptions about what people already know.
What Guides Our Approach
These aren't corporate values printed on a wall. They're how we actually build courses and work with students.
Start Where You Are
We don't care if you've never opened Excel or if spreadsheets make you nervous. Every course begins with the absolute basics and builds from there, step by step.
Real-World Context
You won't analyze made-up companies. Our examples come from actual Australian businesses—retail shops, construction firms, service providers. The kind of work you might be doing yourself.
Honest Limitations
Financial analysis helps you see patterns and make informed choices. It doesn't predict the future or guarantee outcomes. We're upfront about what the numbers can and can't tell you.

What We Actually Teach
Our curriculum focuses on the fundamentals that matter most for Australian small businesses and professionals looking to understand financial health.
- Reading and interpreting financial statements without getting lost in accounting jargon
- Ratio analysis that reveals whether a business is tracking well or heading for trouble
- Cash flow management—understanding why profitable businesses sometimes run out of money
- Break-even analysis for pricing decisions and project planning
- Budget variance analysis to spot problems early and adjust course
Our next intake starts September 2025. The program runs twelve weeks with evening sessions twice a week, designed for people working full-time.
Meet the Person Behind lorendrixa
Stellan Korhonen
Founder & Lead Instructor
I spent fifteen years doing financial analysis for manufacturing companies before moving to Port Macquarie in 2018. What I noticed during those years was how many talented people felt locked out of financial decision-making because they thought they weren't "numbers people." That's not actually a thing—it's just that most of us were never taught this stuff properly. lorendrixa is my attempt to fix that. When I'm not teaching, you'll find me at the beach or arguing about cricket at the local pub.
